Since A106 seamless can be hot finished or cold drawn, in very,
very basic terms the difference between the two is a matter of the
temperature at which the process is performed. Hot finished pipe is
produced at temperatures over about 1700F° while cold drawn is
produced at much lower temperatures and with more processing. For
OD<325mm pipes, we use hot rolled method.

5. Chemical Requirements
A For each reduction of 0.01% below the specified carbon maximum,
an increase of 0.06% manganese above the specified maximum will be
permitted up to a maximum of 1.35%.
B Unless otherwise specified by the purchaser, for each reduction
of 0.01% below the specified carbon maximum, an increase of 0.06%
manganese above the specified maximum will be permitted up to a
maximum of 1.65%.
C These five elements combined shall not exceed 1%.

8. Heat Treatment
Hot-finished pipe need not be heat treated. Cold-drawn pipe shall
be heat treated after the final cold draw pass at a temperature of
1200°F(650°C) or higher.
